One might say that better days are coming and that they are called Saturday and Sunday. Personally, I have been thoroughly enjoying every single day in my beloved city even more since the sun has decided to stay a little longer. It makes for the perfect days for endless strolling, exploring and getting just wonderfully lost. So, let’s see what this weekend has to bring, now shall we?
“Het Sangriafeest” by “Vergulden Eenhoorn” – 5th of July
If somebody were to ask me about one of my weak spots, sangria would definitely make the list. This Spanish liquid has stolen many hearts around the globe, including those of many people in Amsterdam. That’s the reason why this year already marks the 4th edition of the “Sangria Party”. Eat and drink till the sun goes down during this lovely and rather popular gardenparty. ¡Salud!
Summer Stock Sale by Such – 6th of July
Ah, Sukha might be the definition of a lovely little shop. As I’ve told you before, “Sukha” actually means “joy of life” in Sanskrit and it is the place where beautiful and sustainable(!) things are conceived, developed and created. Sounds great right? Well this weekend, they will host a Stock Sale so time to go for a little shopping!
Kimchi workshop by Mediamatic – 7th of July
First of all, if you’re one of the few people that haven’t already tried Kimchi yet, you truly should go and treat yourself to some! Kimchi is a very popular fermented Korean side dish. And this weekend, you will get the chance to join a workshop on how to make your own. Count me in!
Antique on the canals by “Antiekcentrum” on the “Elandsgracht” – 7th of July
The name gives it away already, this Sunday “Antiekcentrum” will organise an antique market on the lovely “Elandsgracht”. Go treasure hunting and find that one unique antique or vintage item that has been missing in your life all along at one of the 40 stands.
But that is not all, there are some great returning events hosted this weekend. And naturally, I couldn’t leave you in the dark. So, if you have some time left, this weekend is the last possibility to visit the World Press Photo in Amsterdam, there are some Rooftop Movie Nights hosted and this Sunday is another edition of the Sunday Market at Westergas.
Enjoy it to the fullest folks!
