Breakfast is often referred to as the most important meal of the day. However, I would personally never refer to it as my favourite meal of the day. That title definitely goes to brunch, as it is the most festive meal by far if you’d ask me. Today, I’d love to share a little favourite brunch spot of mine called “TEDS”.
For the ones that are not familiar with the term brunch yet: brunch is a meal that often is consumed around 11 am, so a bit later than the usual breakfast and a little earlier on the day than a regular lunch. It often is combined with an (alcoholic) beverage, that I approve of course.
“TEDS” is a lovely little place that offers an all-day brunch. Which means a menu filled with a lot of eggs, fresh sandwiches, curly fries, champagne, cocktails and all other things that bring one happiness. It is rather straight to the point, nothing too fancy, “hip” or healthy for that matter. I guess it is the kind of comfort food you secretly always crave for.
The interior at “TEDS” is lovely. It has a very relaxed and comfortable feel to it. There are some great and very accurate quotes on the wall, some lovely little French bulldog statues and a big wooden table that makes for a great work spot and a very comfy looking chesterfield couch. You’ll find the people at “TEDS” enjoying a good read, working on their laptop, or catching up while enjoying a just lovely brunch. I just adore places that can accommodate such different needs!
“TEDS” is located in ‘Oud-West’, which is a 20-minute walk or a 5-minute bicycle ride if you would like to do it the Dutch way. The staff is very friendful and the overall experience is just simply put very lovely.
As they say at “TEDS”: remember, eat diamonds for brunch and shine all day! So, whether you’re an early bird or not that much of a great early riser, you will most probably not regret getting you (boozy) brunch in at “TEDS”. Cheers!
