Treasure hunting is something I just love to spend a great deal of time on. The only thing better than finding a little gem, is sharing it with you guys. And on this very wonderful day, I would love to tell you all about one of my new favourite shops in my hood.
Last week, when strolling over my very beloved ‘Haarlemmerdijk’, I stepped into the wonderful world of ‘Six and Sons’, a (partly) vintage concept store. It is home to an extensive collection of products, from trendy Scandinavian clothes to vintage furniture. I truly got so excited to see two of my favourite things combined in one shop: lovely new concepts by younger brands and designers combined with sustainable old-fashioned items. I must say that they really offer a unique range of products, that I haven’t seen anywhere else.
The owners of this great shop travel throughout Europe to find the real hidden gems, the quality vintage products and some new designers with a refreshing or creative vision. No wonder that ‘Hutspot van Woustraat’ also carries some of their carefully selections items!
The store has a very raw and almost masculine feeling to it. Kind of refreshing if you ask me! The authentic walls almost start crumbling when you stare at it for too long and they truly tell a story… There unfortunately was a fire a few years ago. When the owners got the venue, they decided to leave it like that and you see the old layers of wallpapers.
A visit to this shop can only be described as a real treat. As my hands got itchy because of the unique range of items, I promised myself that I was allowed to return soon. ‘Six and Sons’ is the kind of store which is nearly impossible to leave empty handed. And that for me, in a city with luckily a lot of concept stores, is the biggest compliment there is.
Have a great one!
