Can you believe it?! Spring, sweet spring is officially here! Even though it almost scares me how much time actually flies, I have truly been enjoying the feeling of those first sun rays on my face again and I can’t wait to see everything bloom! But first things first, another very exciting weekend in my beloved city is just around the corner. If you’re looking for some recommendations and wondering where to spend your days off, I might be able to help you out a little. So, let’s get to it!
Amsterdam Wine Festival – Westergasfabriek, 22nd till the 24th of March
‘Bottled poetry’, ‘liquid love’ or ‘the answer to the question you already forgot’, as some people call it. There are many synonyms for one of the world’s most beloved beverages: wine. Today is the start of Amsterdam Wine Festival! During this three-day harvest festival, the farmers celebrate that the grapes are ready to be processed and you get to clebrate it with them by tasting some of the finest South-European wines and you get the opportunity to talk with them personally, about this fascinating process. Whether you are into red, whites or rosé, they’ve got it all. Santé!
Pop-up Kitchen Sergeant Pepper – Kopstootbar, 22nd of March till 1st of May
They are back! I’ve heard so many great things about this Indian foodtruck, that I really can’t wait to taste a piece, of what is supposed to be Indian food heaven. For the upcoming two months, Seargeant Pepper will help you still your Indian cravings. Say (vegan) curries, butter chicken, coconut prawns and samosas and you can expect to see me there. Note: the three course menu is only €21,- a man. Score! You can reserve a table at email@example.com or just hop by for a little snack.
Tropical Surprises – Waterkant, 23 d of March, 23.00h till 03.00h Especially when the sun is around, Waterkant is one of my favourite hangouts in my neighbourhood. And now that spring is here, and we’re all secretly dreaming about those long sunny days spent outside, I am preparing myself for many afternoons and evenings at Waterkant. This Saturday, after all crazy Dutch weather lately, Waterkant decided that everybody could use a little tropical fiesta to get in the right mood. Therefore, they will host a tropical themed party, with some great RnB and funky hiphop music that will make you want to put your sunglasses on and sip on a cocktail. Personally, I recommend getting some good food in at their place beforehand. And if you’re wondering, the roti roll is very, very good. 😉
Open Tower Day – 23d of March, 10.00h till 16.00h
Yessss! This annual event is one of my favourite events! I’ve talked about Open Tower Day before, as it makes for the perfect opportunity to see my gorgeous city from great heights with the most breathtaking views. As I’ve vistited already most towers in Amsterdam, I’m planning on revisiting some of my favourite towers in the city centre. ‘Cause some sights never grow old, now do they?
And so, there’s only one thing left for me to say… Cheers to a great one guys!
