Last week I went to ‘Rosies’ for a lil’ bite to eat. Rosies is located on the Rozengracht, just a short walk from the hotel. It had been on my list for quite some time now, as I always wander past it during my many walks around the Jordaan.
Rosies is a real tiny bistro, and only open from Wednesday – Sunday and from 6 pm till 10.30 pm. Saturdays and Sundays you’re also welcome for some coffee from noon. They have a small menu, with some; starters, small dishes and main dishes. The idea is you can either have your own main course, or share some smaller dishes, or any combination in between.

As you might know, I always prefer sharing! So we shared a main dish; the risotto with morilles and three smaller dishes: a goat cheese, beetroot and rhubarb salad, butter beans and deep fried artichoke. This was an absolute hit! We loved each dish we ordered. Especially the risotto was really soft and rich of flavors. The combination beetroot, goat cheese and rhubarb is always a good idea, in my opinion.
For dessert, we had a home made ice cream, with salted caramel and a crunch. All ice cream is home made and it was really the best, we enjoyed every bite! They have a small variation in different flavors, unfortunately, we only had room left to split the one caramel crunch.

The service was great, real friendly and helpful. Although the place is real tiny, we had a great seat and enough space. If you’d like to have dinner with a group, or even more than four people I would recommend to reserve a table. Just to be sure.
Sincerely,
Mr. J.
