I adore wandering through the Jordaan, checking out the many little galleries and art shops it houses. But every once in a while, on Sundays, I like to pay a little visit to the Spui plein. Between 10 am and 6 pm you will find the cutest little Art fair.
Pictures by Art Plein
The fair is organized by ‘Stichting Amsterdam International Artists’. Each Sunday, around 25 artists display their art. The art varies from oil paintings, drawings and prints to sculptures, ceramics and jewelry. Of course, all art is for sale and also very affordable (big plus is there is no gallery commission to be paid, which lowers the prices!).
Work from Pascale Lefebvre / Cil Laurens
The set up is really low-key and personal. You can talk directly to each artist, getting to know the story behind their work. In total there are over 60 participating artists, which all take turns. Giving variety to the content of the market.
Looking forward to Sunday! Let’s hope for some nice weather though. Make sure to check the Facebook events, in case of bad weather the event can be canceled sometimes.
