Aaah, Autumn. These rainy, gray and cold days really make me long for a sunny destination, maybe a cocktail and some tropical snacks. But yeah, what can you do? Well, I like to hide out in nice restaurants, bars and cafés. Places with a warm, cozy atmosphere, which make you forget about the rain for a little while. So, my latest discovery fits this idea perfectly: Plato Loco.
Plato Loco seems quite hidden. It is located in the middle of a residential area, next to the Jordaan. But once you get inside you will forget all about it. Plato Loco is great in details. The interior is homey, warm and modern at the same time (just the way I like it). You can find lots of green, plants, bird cages and other colorful decorations. In summer, I can imagine, their terrace is a lovely option for afternoon drinks and a bite to eat as well.

Plato Loco serves all kinds of Caribbean inspired food. Sounds good right? For example a delicious Cuban beef stew ‘Carne con Papa’ or their famous ‘Jamaican Jerk Chicken’. As a starter I can highly recommend the ‘Plato Loco Mix for two’, a mix of several starters such as empanadas and Jamaican chicken wings. Perfect to share, while enjoying a drink. In addition to their lovely menu, Plato Loco serves great cocktails! Or you can have an imported Presidente or Polar beer, the most popular beers in the Caribbean.
If you want to escape the cold wintery vibes, this definitely is a perfect place to spend your evening.
Sincerely,
Mr. J
