So much to do, so little time. With the Prinsengrachtconcert and the Pluk de Nacht film festival just behind us, it is already time for another event. The Jordaan Festival is peeking around the corner! And this might be one of the best summer events if you ask me. Every year this festival takes place at the ‘Appeltjesmarkt’. This festival celebrates the the Jordaan, its history, music and artists. Dutch artists preform at the festival, which is, not one, not two, but three days! Ooh how excited I am.
The festival first took place in 1975 and is organized, every year, ever since. Organizer Jan de Bie is always looking for new talent to preform at his festival. For a lot of artists, the festival is a big step in their career. Some of the greatest Dutch artists once started out on this festival. The festival is the embodiment of everything we love from the Jordaan, and the stories I like to tell you about it. It brings people together, has character, and is just ‘gezellig’ as we like to say.

Also this year some great Dutch artists will join the stage, to make sure this will be edition will be a great succes. The entrance to the festival is totally free! But if you’d like you can buy VIP tickets and enjoy the festival from a special deck. Just so you know: Friday night the festivals starts at 8 pm, but on Saturday and Sunday, you can start singing at 3 pm! The closing party is on Monday and will take place in the DeLaMar Theatre. Please note that for this party you will need tickets which are available on the website (€15,00 a.p.)
So who is with me?
Sincerely,
Mr. J.
